The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received a Credit from the International Development Association (IDA) to assist in financing the Dar es Salaam Maritime Gateway Program (DMGP). The Financing Agreement was signed on 02/10/2017. The DMGP came into effectiveness on 14/04/2018 and will end on 30/06/2024.

The main objective of the DMGP is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Port of Dar es Salaam for the benefit of public and private stakeholders.

The project consists of 2 components which are:

• Improving the Physical Infrastructure
• Institutional Strengthening and Implementation Assistance

The DMGP effective period is 7 years (84 months) (from 30/06/2017 to 30/06/2024).
